





Description
Designed for short-distance and short-range distance measurements, the VL53L4CD enables highly accurate distance measurements with a range from just 1 mm to 1300 mm. The new-generation laser emitter features an 18° field of view, offering improved performance under ambient light conditions, with a measurement rate up to 100 kHz.
Thanks to its autonomous mode and programmable distance threshold, the VL53L4CD has very low power consumption, making it ideal for battery-powered devices. Its fully integrated on-chip processing helps reduce design complexity and lower component costs by enabling the use of lower-power and more cost-effective microcontrollers.
Like other ST FlightSense time-of-flight (ToF) sensors, the VL53L4CD records absolute distance measurements regardless of target color or reflectivity.
The VL53L4CD is packaged in a micro-molded package containing an SPAD (single-photon avalanche diode) array. This device delivers optimal performance under various environmental lighting conditions and across a wide range of glass materials.
All ST ToF sensors integrate VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) technology. It emits completely invisible 940 nm infrared light, which is eye-safe (Class 1 certified).
