The signal generation part of the second counter is composed of the integrated circuit CD4060. The CD4060 contains an oscillator. The oscillator can be connected to an RC circuit or a crystal oscillator. This circuit is connected to a 32768Hz crystal oscillator. The crystal oscillator can be used to obtain a very stable oscillation signal. The 14-stage frequency divider circuit inside the CD4060 outputs different frequency signals. After 14-stage frequency division, the output frequency is 2Hz square wave signal from Q14 (pin 3). The integrated circuit CD4013 forms a 2-frequency divider circuit. After dividing the output 2Hz signal, a 1Hz second signal is finally obtained. A 1Hz square wave signal can be obtained at test point A, and a 1Hz sawtooth signal at test point.
