Hard disk cooling installation tutorial:
1. Turn the STEAM DECK off. Turn off the power to STEAM DECK and unplug all cables before replacing the hard drive.
2. Remove the eight screws on the back of the STEAM DECK. (1) Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the eight screws securing the back cover. four 9.5 MM screws and four 5.8 MM screws; (2) Keep the screws safe during the replacement process to prevent loss
3. pry open the back cover. (1) Insert a tab along the edge of the right grip in the slit between the back cover and the front case; (2) Use the tab to pry up the back cover to loosen the clips
4. Remove the protective plate. (1) use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the three screws holding the shield, one 3.4mm screw and two 3.7mm screws; (2) remove the screws and remove the shield
5. Remove the SSD. (1) screw out the fixed SSD screws with a Phillips screwdriver; (2) remove the fixed screws and pull out the hard drive
6. Install the heatsink (1) peel off the heatsink protective film; (2) peel off the thermal paste protective film to thermal paste, as shown in the picture on the surface of the hard disk particles; (3) align the heatsink to the hard disk and press into the thermal slot
7. Install the solid state drive. Insert the SSD with the heatsink installed back into the slot and tighten the screws
8. Put back the protective cover. After installing the hard drive, align the protective cover with the body screw holes and put it back on
9. Install the protective cover. Put back the three fixing screws to fix the protective cover
10. Install the eight screws on the back of the STEAM DECK. (1) Snap the back cover into the body; (2) Install the body screws to fix the back cover, installation is complete
